Building Justice: Envisioning White-Led Startups

“If you build it, they will come.” Democracy and justice, as practiced in American co-ops has negatively impacted our movement. White-led start-up co-ops can help shift that impact by choosing to not become “just another grocery store”. Food co-ops are supposed to spotlight democracy, equity, and justice for all who participate (and inspire a desire in non members to join the co-op). Let’s make that happen sooner rather than later. The Speaker will provide a *Pre-workshop (small) reading for those who’d like to dig in a little early.
